RoseKin Application

You deserve to feel beautiful

Let us put first that beauty comes from within and not from the outside. However, self-love is also about taking good care of yourself, your mind, and body. Healthy, glowing skin is not self-evident for most people. But what can we do to look after our skin? We at RoseKin think it is necessary to inform you how to take good care of your skin. Without too much fuss and hassle, just a few simple tips. Every day is another chance to get the most out of not only life but also yourself. You deserve to feel beautiful, confident, and healthy. With these 7 natural tips and tricks, you will obtain a bright and healthy skin.

1.    Use sun protection every day

We cannot say this often enough, use sun protection, every day! A lotion with SPF is always essential, not only on days when the sun is shining. Even in winter, when we cannot see the sun, UV rays can penetrate deep into the skin. Did you know that UV rays even could enter through glass, which means you need protection outside as well as inside? By protecting your skin from the sun every day, the skin remains much more elastic and less dry. 90% of skin aging is caused by the sun, and the more often you go into the sun unprotected, the faster the skin cells are damaged. Not only does this causes wrinkles, but it also increases the risk of skin cancer.

Always use a product with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) because the higher the SPF, the better protected you are against the sun. From now on, with RoseKin you can go outside without any worries whether or not the sun is shining, because RoseKin products will protect you against the harmful UV rays. For example, the Daily Protection Liquid Foundation and the Daily Protection Mineral Loose Powder both contain SPF 50+.

2.    Variety in your diet

Unfortunately, there is no magic ingredient that will keep you young and wrinkle-free forever. However, the right nutrition does contribute to healthy skin. If your diet is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants (these protect you from UV rays and air pollution), your skin will benefit optimally. Choose fresh, unprocessed, organic food and eat plenty of fruit and vegetables every day. It is also essential to vary. If you always eat the same thing, it becomes difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs. You often hear the saying: beautiful skin comes from within, and it turns out to be true. The nutrients you take in result in bright skin.

3.    Do not smoke

We have known for a long time that smoking is bad for the lungs, but it also has repercussions on other parts of the body and organs. Nor does the skin escape the harmful effects of cigarette smoke. Yellow fingers and nails, grey facial skin, and wrinkles around the mouth (due to frequent cigarette puffs) are signs of premature skin aging. Cigarette smoke sticks to the face, as it were, immediately after exhaling, resulting in blackheads, clogged pores, and other imperfections, such as blotchy skin.

Nevertheless, not only cigarette smoke is harmful to your skin, nicotine causes damage as well. Nicotine constricts the blood vessels of the epidermis, making it difficult for vitamins and nutrients to reach the surface of the skin. The skin is not able to repair itself, and this attack to the bloodstream is the cause of the grey or yellowish glow that many smokers have. Enough reasons to quit smoking. Your body, organs, skin, and environment will thank you for this.

4.    Use retinol

Retinol, or more simply Vitamin A, is one of the best-researched skincare ingredients. It gets a lot of attention in the world of skincare and rightly, so because research shows that it makes the skin quite happy. Retinol is a powerful cell-communicating ingredient. It means that this substance sticks to almost every skin cell and communicates that the cell has to behave like a healthy, younger skin cell. Besides, vitamin A is an antioxidant and thus stops the damaging effects of harmful free radicals that make the skin look older. At least, retinol helps fight wrinkles and stimulates collagen production. These are all benefits that have a positive effect on the skin.

You can find retinol in vegetable foods, such as carrots, pumpkin, bananas, and mandarins. It is also possible to use a cream that contains vitamin A. If you have dry skin, it is sufficient to use this cream once a week and, in case of an oily skin twice a week, as an addition to your day cream. Use it in the evening because the retinol makes your skin vulnerable, and always be careful with UV-damage, so don’t forget to use SPF!

5.    Exercise every day for 30 minutes

We have known for decades that exercising is healthy and good for the body and mind. By moving, our muscles and joints become more supple and strengthened. It also lowers blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar levels and helps prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. This should be enough reasons to get out every day and move for at least 30 minutes. However, this is not all. Exercising gives your body a boost of oxygen and stimulates your blood circulation. It creates a healthy complexion and makes you look healthy and radiant. So, after reading this blog, put on some music or listen to a podcast and go outside. An half an hour walk in the fresh air is enough! Moreover, don’t forget your sun protection!

6.    Drink enough water

Our body needs an average of 30 ml of water per kilogram of body weight per day. That is about 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, a total of two liters of water. A large part of the population fails to drink two liters of water per day, even though it comes with many advantages. For example, the water clears up the toxins in your body, which keeps your skin healthy. Even after a few days, this can be visible. You will see that your skin looks less dry and feels much softer than before.

At certain times, your skin needs more water, such as in an airplane or during a long train journey. The air in the cabin circulates while the air conditioning is on. Your skin suffers severely from this scenario, so make sure you keep drinking enough and use a moisturizing cream on top. The cream prevents dehydration of your skin from the journey. Important to note: you can of course enjoy a glass of wine during the weekend but beware of excessive alcohol consumption. Too much alcohol extracts moisture from your skin and makes your skin look tired.

7.    Get eight hours of sleep a day

After a few days with little sleep, your nightmare becomes reality: at first dark circles around the eyes start to appear. Does that sound familiar? These circles and puffiness around the eyes is the result of blood accumulating under the eyes. This is not the only thing that too little sleep does to you. Sleep deprivation can lead to an imbalance in the natural pH level of the skin. Your skin is no longer able to produce enough moisture that can lead to cracks. In addition, poor sleep can accelerate the signs of skin aging.

The skin’s ability to repair itself continues to deteriorate. While you are lying in your bed dreaming, your skin is working extremely hard. The skin produces collagen, which is useful to repair the skin. That may explain where the term “beauty sleep” has come from. When you sleep, your skin renews, waste products break down and cells are repaired. From now on, you can take a nap every day without feeling guilty. For a healthy skin, you need around seven to eight hours of sleep a night. Tip: switch off all screens at least half an hour before you go to bed.

Protect your skin

Taking great care of beautiful, smooth skin is not that difficult at all. However, there are a few simple tips you should not forget. By following these tips, your skin can start to look and feel better. It is possible to prolong wrinkles as well as blemishes and impurities from developing for as long as possible. Besides, it is better to protect your skin from the beginning rather than trying to repair it at a later stage. So, start taking care of your skin now and reap the benefits in the years to come.
