RoseKin Cosmetics was founded by Jessica Gross, a Swiss-certified pharmacy technician and an SHQA-certified pharmaceutical consultant. She spent over 15 years in the Swiss pharmaceutical industry, including educating dermatologists about skin cancer, and over 8 years in international business development for cosmetic and skincare manufacturers.

Why SPF matters

UV radiation reaches the skin whether it’s sunny or cloudy, summer or winter, indoors or outdoors. It accumulates quietly. 

  • UVA rays penetrate deeply into the skin and contribute to premature ageing, collagen breakdown, and long-term damage. 
  • UVB rays are responsible for visible effects like sunburn.

The zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in all our products are non-nano. Our Liquid Foundation and Mineral Loose Powder also contain iron oxides, the pigments that give them their tint, which research shows reflect visible light (source).

Frequently Asked Questions

How does RoseKin test its SPF?

Every RoseKin SPF product is tested on volunteers by an independent laboratory in Italy. SPF is measured on people with the EU method ISO 24444, and UVA protection is measured separately with ISO 24443.

Does RoseKin’s Liquid Foundation really reach SPF 50+?

Yes. RoseKin’s Daily Protection Liquid Foundation measured SPF 62.9 on 10 volunteers in an independent test in Italy in 2021 (ISO 24444). The EU requires a measured SPF of at least 60 for an SPF 50+ label, and the result covers all three shades.

Can a powder really give SPF 50+ protection?

Yes, when it is tested properly. RoseKin’s Daily Protection Mineral Loose Powder was tested on volunteers in Italy under ISO 24444, and the lab confirmed it for an SPF 50+ label. Its UVA protection factor of 28.1 is the highest in the RoseKin range. Like any sunscreen, it protects best when you apply enough.

What do PA+++ and PA++++ mean?

They grade UVA protection, the rays behind premature skin ageing. PA+++ covers a UVA protection factor of 8 to 15.9, PA++++ 16 or more. We measure UVA protection with the EU lab method (ISO 24443) and give the matching PA grade as an equivalent: Hydrating Day Cream 12.7 (PA+++ equivalent), Liquid Foundation 25.5 (PA++++ equivalent), Mineral Loose Powder 28.1 (PA++++ equivalent). In Europe, all three carry the EU UVA circle.

Which RoseKin product is a mineral-only sunscreen?

The Daily Protection Mineral Loose Powder SPF 50+ is the only mineral-only product in the range: its filters are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. The Liquid Foundation SPF 50+ combines zinc oxide with an organic filter, and the Hydrating Day Cream SPF 30 combines titanium dioxide with modern organic filters. The zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in every RoseKin product are non-nano.
